The Age-friendly CNY Mass Painting Event
The Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project organised the Age-friendly CNY Mass Painting Event in Lingnan University on 28 January 2023. Joined by Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, the Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Mr Simon Ma, artist and Chairman of DC Charity Foundation, more than 80 elderly and 30 teenagers expressed their creativity by colouring the Drago Cavallo sculptures, as well as set a Guinness Record under the “Drago Cavallo. Travel around the World” tour.
The event was co-organised with the DC Charity Foundation and was also part of the “Drago Cavallo. Travel around HK” tour. The participants spread the messages of love and care through arts on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, Renri (everyone’s birthday) and fostered intergenerational harmony. There were a lantern riddle game booth, photo booth and Wishing Tree. Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges and Mr Ma also wrote fai chun and distributed to the participants to spread festive joy.
More than 80 Project Ambassadors taking part in the event were presented with a Certificate of Participation –“Drago Cavallo. Travel around HK” and will set a Guinness World Record. After being professionally judged, their painted Drago Cavallo may be displayed in the “Drago Cavallo. Travel around the World” tour in Shanghai, Beijing, the Vatican, and more.
The coloured Drago Cavallo sculptures were exhibited in Wing On Plaza, Lingnan University from 30 January 2023 to 6 February 2023.
