Thank you for your support to the Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project
The Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project (“JCAFC Project”) concluded in July 2024. Thank you for your support and participation over the years! Launched in 2015 in response to the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population, the JCAFC Project has adopted a bottom-up, district-based approach to facilitate multi-sectoral collaboration which successfully engaged the Government, District Councils, academia, NGOs, business sector and the general public through various district-based and territory-wide programmes and public education initiatives to develop Hong Kong into an age-friendly city (“AFC”).
An online resource platform, Age-friendly Port (www.jcafc-port.hk) and a series of collaterals are available online to sustain the AFC development.
Besides, the case book "Strategies for creating an age-friendly city: Hong Kong as a case study" comprehensively documents how Hong Kong advanced the age-friendly movement in all 18 districts through the JCAFC Project, as well as reflects on how Hong Kong's work to become more age-friendly has contributed to the implementation of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.
The Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme will continue to be held to encourage companies and organisations to adopt age-friendly practices in their operation and service delivery, as well as recognise the good practices. Please visit www.jccitypartnership.hk for details.
It is hoped that the JCAFC Project’s momentum could spur innovative AFC solutions in a sustainable way, making Hong Kong a more age-friendly city.
