Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Love Life Lantau Island

Key components:
  • Recruit volunteers and provide training by professional healthcare workers and social workers on the information of healthy lifestyle and the skills of conducting basic body check-ups.
  • Provide health check-ups for the elderly living in remote areas on Lantau Island (e.g. Mui Wo, Pui O) and disseminate information on healthy lifestyle and self-care.
  • Organise outreach activities for singleton and doubleton elderly to provide home-based health education services.
  • Arrange visits to community health facilities (e.g. health information centres) for elderly people living in remote areas to learn about the facilities and organisations, so as to strengthen their integration with the society.
  • Organise health talks to promote health messages.
