Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Tsuen Wan AFC Ambassador Training Programme

Key components:
  • Recruit elderly people and housewives to become AFC Ambassadors and enhance their understanding and awareness on age-friendly city, as well as provide trainings on dementia, healthy brain exercises, home safety, etc.
  • Conduct home visits to the elderly in need in Tsuen Wan District, providing information on healthy brain exercises, healthy diet and home safety, and conducting minor home modification work in order to reduce their chances of getting injured at home (especially those with dementia), as well as providing assessment by occupational therapists (for public housing tenants) and basic home cleaning services subject to the needs and wish of the elderly.
  • Organise health promotion activities at different locations in Tsuen Wan to spread the messages of age-friendliness and encourage community members to understand the needs of elderly people.
