Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Tai O Age-friendly Community: Health and Civic Participation

Key components:
  • Design suitable workouts for the elderly in Tai O by physiotherapists and instructors according to their needs and community characteristics, as well as provide regular exercise trainings for the elderly and AFC Ambassadors and set up self-help exercise groups.
  • Change the rubber stoppers of walking aids to meet the needs of the elderly in Tai O.
  • Conduct small-scale community improvement work in public spaces not under the management of government, e.g. installation of solar lights at public walkways without adequate lighting in Tai O stilt house areas.
  • Set up a community concern group to convene regular meetings to discuss community issues, share recommendations to District Council members or relevant organisations and follow-up.
