In order to raise public awareness on elderly employment, the Press Conference on “Elderly Employment” was held on 11 July 2017 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Ms Imelda Chan, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Head of Charities (Grant Making - Elderly, Rehabilitation, Medical, Environment & Family) delivered the opening remarks, followed by the announcement of baseline assessment results on elderly employment by Professor Jean Woo, Director of the CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing. Wan Chai Methodist Centre for the Seniors and social enterprise “Happy Retired”, the co-organisers of a district-based programme titled “Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - New Employment Journey for Senior Citizens”, as well as the participating older people and an age-friendly employer shared their experience of participating in the programme and their views on promoting elderly employment.
