Jockey Club Age-friendly City Project - Central and Western District Elderly Ambassador Training

Key components:
  • Organise talks for elderly people on the concept of age-friendly community.
  • Provide trainings to elderly ambassadors on various skills (e.g. photography, interviewing, social media, public speaking and computer literacy), and conduct community visits and neighbourhood interviews by the elderly ambassadors to capture the life stories of elderly people and review the age-friendliness of the district.
  • Announce the observation and results of community visits through community classes, photo albums and roving exhibitions, and promote the concept of age-friendly community to district stakeholders such as primary and secondary schools and local organisations.
  • Organise day camp for elderly ambassadors to recognise their participation and share their learnings.
